Abstract

The study's primary goal is to explore various reliability measures that enhance the functionality of two systems: The Centrifugal Pump system, comprising the Impeller and Shaft, and the State Water Supply system, which has a single component. The Impeller is crucial in converting mechanical energy into kinetic energy, facilitating fluid movement with precision for optimal flow and system efficiency. Concurrently, the Shaft maintains alignment and stability while transmitting power from the motor to the Impeller. These systems function in parallel, remaining operational as long as at least one of them functions. They exhibit distinct failure and repair rates, with immediate access to repair servers in case of system failures. The study assumes exponential distributions for failure and repair times, with repairs being highly effective and all random variables being independent and uncorrelated. To evaluate reliability measures, the study employs the Regenerative Point Technique and a semi-Markov process. Understanding and assessing measures like Mean Time to System Failure (MTSF) and system availability empower engineers to optimize maintenance schedules, forecast system downtime, and use resources efficiently.
